SAGINAW, Mich. – Only 50 seats remain at Quality 10 GDX in Saginaw for the Red Carpet Premiere of “Trapped by Deception.” Saginaw play write, Lorenzo Pierson takes his creative skills to the big screen with his first movie. The 264 seat theater is expected to be filled Thursday, December 5. The red carpet rolls out at 5:30 p.m. and the movie begins at 7 p.m.

“Trapped by Deception” is a movie of betrayal, packed with love and danger. When Trae Love’s (played by Marcus Middleton) past catches up with him, it shakes the life he and his wife have made. The search for truth will end in a twisted finale. The official movie trailer may be viewed on YouTube:

“Trapped by Deception” was filmed in Saginaw, Detroit and Frankenmuth. The film also stars Jennifer Andrews and Brandy Tahnora. Though the cast is made of actors from across the country, the production team includes Saginaw natives.

Writer, producer and director Lorenzo Pierson is more than his title. He worked for the City of Saginaw Police Department, the Saginaw Public School District, started non-profits focused on youth and has brought a slew of entertainment to the city over the years. Pierson says bringing his first movie to his hometown shows the community that dreams come true.

“I’ve been working toward this goal for years. From the plays I produced and continue to bring to the city, to now a movie. This is a testament to what can be birthed right here in Saginaw. All you have to do is go after your dreams.”

Following Thursday night’s Red Carpet Movie Premiere, “Trapped by Deception” will be released in 2020 in select theaters. Eventually, the movie will be available on Amazon Prime, and Pierson hopes to have the film on Netflix. “Trapped by Deception” will also be submitted for film festivals taking place across the country.

Thursday night’s Red Carpet Movie Premiere costs $25 for general admission and $40 for VIP. The only tickets left for sale can be purchased at Greeks R Us (2203 E. Genesee Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601).
